6 Nights – South Luangwa & Livingstone

Upon arrival at Lusaka airport, you will connect on the local flight from Lusaka to Mfuwe in the South Luangwa where you will find your safari guide waiting for you who will help you with your luggage and later transfer you from the airport to Track and Trail River camp in the South Luangwa National Park.

Track and Trail River Camp is an intimate safari lodge offering authentic and unique safari experiences. Our safari lodge South Luangwa is an ideal place to relax and unwind in-between exciting safari adventures. Ideally located on the banks of the Luangwa River and opposite the South Luangwa National park, only a 5 min, drive from the main entrance. Here we want you to feel pampered, touched, reconnected, surprised and inspired by our safari lodge, team, guides, nature and the people.

At Track and Trail River Camp you can join us for a morning or a night drive in the South Luangwa National Park, Zambia. The morning safari starts around 06.00, just after a light breakfast at sunrise and takes place in open safari vehicles to fully experience the surroundings. You will be accompanied by one of our professional, passionate and knowledgeable guides that will tell you all about the fascinating flora, fauna and birdlife of the Luangwa valley. We specialize in photographic safaris and where possible the guide will position the vehicle to get the best angle for photographic purposes. They will also part with advice and knowledge where they can, for you to get the best picture possible. The safari will take about 4 hours, with a short break for a cup of coffee or tea and small bite. Around 10.00 you will return to camp and after refreshing yourself a delicious brunch will be waiting for you around 11.30.

Track & Trail River Camp is a privately owned lodge located on a breathtaking spot on the banks of the Luangwa River overlooking the South Luangwa National Park. We are an owner run lodge that is specialized in photographic safaris and offer our guests all the comforts, while being situated in untouched wilderness.

Track & Trail River Camp is located in the Luangwa Valley, within the Lupande game management area and only a five minutes’ drive from the main entrance of the South Luangwa National Park. The camp offers a unique natural experience. Facilities and accommodation are scattered along the river frontage, surrounded by bushes are two more secluded chalets, build on elevated platforms.

Track & Trail River Camp’s down to earth feel is reflected in its relaxing atmosphere and its naturally-designed architecture. Local traditions of hospitality are combined with modern comforts such as an elevated swimming pool with unrevealed river view, open air gym, spa, restaurant offering international dishes and a ‘Lime tree’ bar.

Our lodge is set on the Luangwa River, which flows all year round. From the lodge you will be able to see hippos, crocodiles, crossing elephants and a lot of birds. The camp is made up of 9 chalets scattered along the river bank or surrounded by natural vegetation.

Depending on your day-to-day activities, on this day you will pack your luggage and your safari guide will transfer you from Track and Trails River Camp to Zikomo Safari Camp for another three nights stay within the South Luangwa National Park. This transfer will take about 1hrs driving passing through interesting areas of the South Luangwa National Park.

Zikomo Safari is in Zambia, across the river from South Luangwa National Park. It is set a midst an ancient valley filled with diverse African wildlife. This peaceful Eco Hotel in the African bush offers spacious accommodations: comfortable handcrafted chalets, or, if you are self-driving, an expansive campground on the riverbank.  A central Main Hall offers a fine restaurant, bar and gathering place overlooking the swimming pool and the sprawling flood plains of the tranquil hippo filled Luangwa River.

This being your last day in the South Luangwa – you will pack your luggage and your safari guide will transfer you from Zikomo Safari Camp to Mfuwe Airport for your local flight from Mfuwe to Livingstone via Lusaka for your last 2 nights in Livingstone before heading to your next destination.

On arrival at Livingstone Airport, our representative will pick you up and transfer you to Victoria Falls Waterfront Lodge, where you will stay for 2 nights which will give you an unforgettable Zambian safari experience.
